What is XPR file?
The XPR file extension is associated with Pro/ENGINEER, a computer-aided design (CAD) and a solid modeling program. Developed by Parametric Technologies Corporation, Pro/ENGINEER can be used to create 3D models, assemblies, 2D drawings, simulations and analyses of products. The XPR file extension is used to store part instances created in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire or Pro/ENGINEER 2000i and higher versions. [ ⏩ ] XPR file extension
What is DESIGN file?
The DESIGN (.DESIGN) file extension is a proprietary file type created by Microsoft Expression Design. This vector-based drawing and illustration program is used to create high-quality illustrations and works of art. It can be used as both a standalone piece of software or as part of a suite of Office programs, providing the user with powerful tools for creating web logos, tutorials, charts, maps and posters. How to convert the file from XPR to DESIGN?
To successfully convert the XPR file to DESIGN, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.XPR). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case DESIGN (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than DESIGN).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. XPR to DESIGN. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting XPR files to DESIGN files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension DESIGN, while before this step we had the XPR file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new DESIGN file, or not.
