What is WPS file?
The .WPS file extension is associated with a file type created by the Microsoft Works word processor. It is also known as a “Works Word Processor document”. This document format stores both macro and text data, along with formatting information, in a single file. Although the WPS file type is not compatible with newer versions of Microsoft Word, the majority of text formatting is usually maintained when opening the files in the latest version of Microsoft Word. What is WPT file?
The WPT file, a native file type used by WordPerfect, is a document template that stores formatting and layout preferences for text documents. It contains sections of text as well as page formatted elements like fonts, margins, headers and footers. It also includes information about text style and formatting, as well as certain types of objects that appear in the working documents. [ ⏩ ] WPT file extension
How to convert the file from WPS to WPT?
To successfully convert the WPS file to WPT, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.WPS). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case WPT (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than WPT).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. WPS to WPT. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting WPS files to WPT files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension WPT, while before this step we had the WPS file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new WPT file, or not.
