What is VWX file?
The VWX file extension is primarily associated with the Vectorworks architectural drawing software, though it may be used with other applications as well. A VWX file is created by Vectorworks when the user designs and drafts the final plan, layout or project in their software. It refers to a complete Vectorworks project - its settings and properties, its layers, nodes, and data as well as its shapes and lines. [ ⏩ ] VWX file extension
What is IGS file?
IGS (IGS) is an interchange file format, which represents the industry standard for transmitting 3D information between CAD/CAM systems. It has been developed by the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES), a committee that sets standards for sharing graphical information within various industries. IGS (IGS) files are also often used as a general-format model for various types of objects in 3D printing software programs. [ ⏩ ] IGS file extension
How to convert the file from VWX to IGS?
To successfully convert the VWX file to IGS, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.VWX). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case IGS (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than IGS).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. VWX to IGS. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting VWX files to IGS files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension IGS, while before this step we had the VWX file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new IGS file, or not.
