What is TIFF file?
The .TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) file extension is a bitmapped graphics file format commonly used in desktop publishing. It supports lossless compression, which means images in TIFF format retain all original details and colors after compression. History The TIFF file extension was created in the mid-80s by Aldus, now a division of Adobe Systems, and Microsoft. [ ⏩ ] TIFF file extension
What is RW2 file?
The RW2 file extension is associated with the RAW Image Format developed by Panasonic. It is used to store pictures taken with several digital cameras manufactured by Panasonic Lumix Camera Series and Leica. Its purpose is to store the data captured by a camera's image sensor with minimal loss of quality. The images in this format can be made available for post-production of the photos with photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements. [ ⏩ ] RW2 file extension
Software, that you can use to convert
How to convert the file from TIFF to RW2?
To successfully convert the TIFF file to RW2, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.TIFF). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case RW2 (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than RW2).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. TIFF to RW2. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting TIFF files to RW2 files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension RW2, while before this step we had the TIFF file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new RW2 file, or not.
