What is STD file?
The .STD file extension is used for standard Apache OpenOffice Drawing documents. It forms the basis of the OpenOffice drawing template format, a flexible and powerful structure which can accommodate a wide variety of document types. Drawing templates are created in Open Office Draw and are based on the OpenDocument Standard (ODF) 1.1-1.3 (ISO/IEC 26300:2006). They allow users to create presentations and drawings which combine several file types such as images, text objects, charts and diagrams. [ ⏩ ] STD file extension
What is SXD file?
The SXD (StarOffice Drawing) file extension is used in the StarOffice application to store drawings created and saved by the StarOffice application. This file format is one of the oldest vector file formats, and is still being used today for creating graphics, logos, drawings, and complex diagrams. The SXD format is unique to the StarOffice suite of applications, and is not compatible with other applications for editing vector drawings. [ ⏩ ] SXD file extension
How to convert the file from STD to SXD?
To successfully convert the STD file to SXD, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.STD). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case SXD (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than SXD).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. STD to SXD. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting STD files to SXD files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension SXD, while before this step we had the STD file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new SXD file, or not.
