What is PS file?
The PS .PS file extension is used for documents created by or in response to the PostScript programming language. Developed in 1984 by Adobe Systems Inc., PostScript quickly became a preferred choice for many types of documents, and is popular for its excellent document portability, since it works across different operating systems and platforms. For that reason, it has been adopted by several industries, such as publishing and graphic design. [ ⏩ ] PS file extension
What is GRD file?
The .GRD file extension stands for Adobe Photoshop Gradient File. This file type is associated with the Adobe Photoshop software program, a professional image editing suite available on desktop and laptop computers. It stores various gradients and settings that can be used in the software. GRD files save information about color, shape, opacity and angle or direction for a gradient. Gradients offer an easy way to transition colors within an image. [ ⏩ ] GRD file extension
How to convert the file from PS to GRD?
To successfully convert the PS file to GRD, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.PS). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case GRD (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than GRD).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. PS to GRD. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting PS files to GRD files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension GRD, while before this step we had the PS file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new GRD file, or not.
