What is PRE file?
PRE (Lotus Freelance Graphics File) is a .PRE file extension used by the Lotus Freelance Graphics software to store designs, graphics and typesetting formatting. PRE files store files in a proprietary binary format that is specific to the application. Files with the PRE extension contain text, graphics, and page layout elements. They can be imported or exported to various formats, including .JPG, .BMP, .TIF, .PNG, and .PSD. [ ⏩ ] PRE file extension
What is PPSX file?
PPSX is the .PPSX filename extension used for PowerPoint Open XML Slide Show files created with Microsoft PowerPoint. PPSX files are just ZIP-compressed archives of XML and other files like multimedia and macro code. This Presentation format has replaced previous PowerPoint 97-2003 presentation versions. It was first introduced in Microsoft Office 2007 and is the default presentation format for MS Office 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019. [ ⏩ ] PPSX file extension
How to convert the file from PRE to PPSX?
To successfully convert the PRE file to PPSX, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.PRE). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case PPSX (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than PPSX).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. PRE to PPSX. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting PRE files to PPSX files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension PPSX, while before this step we had the PRE file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new PPSX file, or not.
