What is MDF file?
The .MDF file extension is associated with disk images of CDs and DVDs. It is mainly used by Alcohol 120% to store exact copies of optical discs, including video DVDs and game CDs, which generally have multiple files stored in a certain layout. MDF files replicate this layout in their entirety. An MDF file is created by mounting an original disk onto a computer's virtual drive with Alcohol 120%. [ ⏩ ] MDF file extension
What is CCD file?
The CCD file extension is associated with the CloneCD software application. It is a data backup tool that creates compressed images of optical discs onto the hard drive. This data can be read by other programs that are capable of burning CD's, such as Nero and Engrave. By creating this image, it ensures that the disc does not become damaged, scratched or worn out. Technical Description The CCD file extension is used for the CloneCD Disc Image format. [ ⏩ ] CCD file extension
How to convert the file from MDF to CCD?
To successfully convert the MDF file to CCD, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.MDF). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case CCD (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than CCD).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. MDF to CCD. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting MDF files to CCD files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension CCD, while before this step we had the MDF file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new CCD file, or not.
