What is DVF file?
The DVF (.DVF) file extension is used to store digital voice recordings. This is the native file format of Sony's Digital Voice Editor software and stores sound recordings from many Sony devices, including their HandyCam camcorders, MiniDisc players and ICD voice recorders. It is mainly used for communicating with colleagues, clients, and customers within businesses or for entertainment purposes. [ ⏩ ] DVF file extension
What is WAV file?
A WAV (.wav) file is a container for storing audio data compressed with Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) or Adaptive differential Pulse Code Modulation (ADPCM). It is one of the most popular audio file formats for storing sound data due to its widespread support among users and media players. It is used for storing digital audio tracks independently of compression, featuring unlimited resolution for both sampling rate and bit depth. [ ⏩ ] WAV file extension

How to convert the file from DVF to WAV?
To successfully convert the DVF file to WAV, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.DVF). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case WAV (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than WAV).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. DVF to WAV. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting DVF files to WAV files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension WAV, while before this step we had the DVF file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new WAV file, or not.
