What is DBC file?
The DBC file extension is used by PCB (printed circuit board) design software programOrCAD Capture CIS for project configuration database files. This type of file contains the important design parameters, such as component and pad information, layer specifications, and NETCLASS data. It also houses the footprint definitions, part libraries, symbols, colors, and other foundational information about the printed circuit board design project. [ ⏩ ] DBC file extension
What is RDS file?
The RDS .RDS file extension stands for Ray Dream Studio Scene File, which is the basic file type of Ray Dream Studio, a 3D design and rendering application for Windows. The software is used by designers and graphic artists to create incredibly beautiful 3D images and simulations, as well as architectural models, movie visualizations, and much more. RDS files contain all the components of a 3D design scene such as the objects, textures, lighting, camera angles, and scene effects. [ ⏩ ] RDS file extension
How to convert the file from DBC to RDS?
To successfully convert the DBC file to RDS, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.DBC). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case RDS (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than RDS).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. DBC to RDS. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting DBC files to RDS files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension RDS, while before this step we had the DBC file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new RDS file, or not.
