What is CUE file?
A CUE (Cue Sheet File) is a text-based computer document used by cue sheet software to store information about music albums. The cue sheet has an .cue file extension and contains data such as track titles, artist name, and times at which points of the track should be played. Cue sheets are commonly used in audio files and are used to split one large audio file into individual songs. [ ⏩ ] CUE file extension
What is MDS file?
MDS (.MDS) files are media descriptor files that are primarily associated with DAEMON Tools and work in conjunction with other files, such as .MDF, to create a virtual file system that can be used for file and data storage purposes. Such files contain the configuration information necessary for DAEMON Tools to properly mount the associated media descriptor file. [ ⏩ ] MDS file extension
How to convert the file from CUE to MDS?
To successfully convert the CUE file to MDS, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.CUE). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case MDS (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than MDS).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. CUE to MDS. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting CUE files to MDS files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension MDS, while before this step we had the CUE file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new MDS file, or not.
