What is 3G2 file?
The 3G2 file extension is a video container format developed by the 3GPP2 (3rd Generation Partnership Project 2) for use in mobile phones, and 3GP2 files can be played on any Windows, Mac or Linux computers. 3G2 files are based on the older 3GP file, and uses different codecs such as H.263, H.264, MPEG-4, and AAC for compressing audio and video data. These files have 4CC codes such as 35907BE6, 32674855 and 33134961 and may employ encryption for secure transfer of content. [ ⏩ ] 3G2 file extension
What is H264 file?
A H264 file is a video file that uses the highly efficient H.264 or MPEG-4-AVC (Advanced Video Coding) compression algorithm. The algorithm is very resource efficient and incorporates many features such as high definition support, which enable it to produce high quality compressed video and audio. This makes the H264 format an ideal choice for streaming video, such as YouTube, webinars and live broadcasts. [ ⏩ ] H264 file extension
How to convert the file from 3G2 to H264?
To successfully convert the 3G2 file to H264, you should install one of the applications from the list. After installing the software, open the program and select the file you want to convert (file-name.3G2). The next step is to select the target format from the list, in this case H264 (usually converters allow you to convert to several different formats, so check out their features - maybe one of the available formats will suit you more than H264).
What is a file conversion?
A data conversion is normally an automated process to some extent. The effect of the operation of one program is automatically the input product of another application. If that does not happen we need to help the process a little bit and convert the file on our own, e.g. 3G2 to H264. To obtain a matched structure of the data, it is necessary to use an appropriate converter.
Program for converting 3G2 files to H264 files is a kind of a "binary code translator" compensating for the differences in the code or translating it in such a way so that another application could use it. For us, as users, the visible change will be only another file extension. (After converting the file, it will be the extension H264, while before this step we had the 3G2 file). For the programs, the difference is on a much higher level – either the application will be able to open a new H264 file, or not.
